Pro Youth -hanke (2021-2023) kehittää menetelmiä, joilla voidaan tukea kunniaväkivaltaa tai sen uhkaa kokevia nuoria. Menetelmiä kehitetään ammattilaisten, kuten poliisin, sekä sosiaali- ja nuorisotyöntekijöiden työn tueksi. Lisäksi hanke kehittää sujuvampaa tuen löytymistä kunniaväkivaltaa tai sen uhkaa kokeville nuorille/nuorille aikuisille.

Hanke on Erasmus+ strategisen kumppanuuden hanke, jossa kolme partnerimaata toimii yhteistyössä: Suomi, Italia ja Jordania. Jokaisesta partnerimaasta kunniakysymysten ja väkivaltatilanteiden kanssa työskentelevät asiantuntijat työstävät yhdessä menetelmiä, joiden avulla voidaan tukea nuoria entistä paremmin kunniakäsityksiin liittyvän väkivallan tai sen uhan kohdatessa. Pro Youth -hanke tekee yhteistyötä kussakin partnerimaassa järjestöjen, viranomaisten ja yhteisöjen kanssa.

Pro Youth -hankkeen toteuttajajärjestöjä ovat Suomesta Loisto Setlementti, Italiasta Cooperativa Sociale Shannara Onlus ja Jordaniasta Arab Women Media Center, jotka kaikki tekevät hyvin käytännönläheistä työtä kunniaväkivallan teemojen parissa. Hanketta koordinoi Suomen Setlementtiliitto.

Hankkeessa tuotettavat materiaalit ovat:

• manuaali ammattilaisille
• koulutus ammattilaisille
• tuen/avun piiriin ohjaava nettipohjainen väline nuorille.

Manuaali valmistuu ja tulee jaettavaksi joulukuussa 2022. Muut materiaalit valmistuvat v. 2023.

Pro Youth – Empowering youth workers and youth in the protection and prevention from honor violence

The Pro Youth -project (2021-2023) is developing working methods to support young people who are experiencing honor-based violence or the threat of it. The target groups are the professionals and authorities working with the youth as well as the youth itself. The methods are developed for the use of professionals working with the youth, such as social workers, youth workers and the police. In addition, the project is creating a tool for the youth to find help and support easier than before, when they are facing honor-related conflict or violence.

The project is a strategic partnership project of Erasmus+ program, in which three partner countries are cooperating: Finland, Italy and Jordan. From each country there are professionals taking part, who work with honor-based violence and conflicts. Together we develop methods to be used in each country and perhaps wider, which advance the professionals’ ability to support the young people affected by honor-based violence and conflict. Furthermore, The Pro Youth -project is cooperating with local organizations, authorities, and communities in each partner country.

Pro Youth -project partners are from Finland Loisto Settlement, from Italy Cooperativa Sociale Shannara Onlus and from Jordan Arab Women Media Center, who all work closely with honor-based violence issues and the youth affected. The project is coordinated by the Finnish Federation of Settlement Houses.

The intellectual outputs/working methods which are developed by Pro Youth, are: (1) Manual for the professionals, (2) A training for the professionals and (3) A web-based tool for the youth, which enables them to find local support and help.
